Who knew I’d be in my fifth year riding? I’ve always had a love for cycling. From my black tricycle to my first road bike from Canadian Tire to my now gorgeous Trek. My ability to cycle has changed monumentally.

But here’s the deal.

Far too many children won’t have this experience or feel the glee. It’s outrageously devastating to me. I can’t imagine a life that doesn’t include riding a bike.

This is why I ride.

I ride for those who can’t.

And sadly, for those who never will.

For the past 5 years I’ve spent 1 month dedicated to the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! And this year, I’ve committed to ride 1500km.

I’ve also been invited to be on the elite team of GCC Champions. I’m so honoured to continue peddling my little sticks raising awareness and money for Sick Kids

Why do I do it? Because I’ll never be a mom, because I can’t imagine what the families of children stricken with cancer endure and right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. I ride my bike for them.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
